Claim Pre Delivery Medical Expenses of Medisave Maternity Package

Medisave Maternity Package (MMP) is a package by Central Provident Fund (CPF) where you can use your Medisave savings for pre-delivery medical expenses, delivery expenses and daily hospital charges.

So, it means that CPF allows you to pay your maternity expenses through Medisave for pre-delivery medical expenses such as consultation, ultrasounds, test, medication, diagnosis and etc.

From 24 March 2016 onward, you are able to withdraw up to $900. Prior to this was only $450. However, you need to settle the bill first, before you could claim it from CPF either as patient or spouse.

Please remember to keep the original receipt even though you already uploaded the scanned copy or photo of them.

Apart from that, if you do not wish to claim your Medisave savings for pre-delivery expenses, you can still use it for delivery procedure and daily hospital charges. That is what normally mummies give birth in private will use for. Instead of claiming early, they claim if for delivery procedure or daily hospital charges so they no need to be troubled by this paperwork. That’s why most mummies who go to private will not claim $900 pre-delivery expenses, instead use it to claim for the labour hospital bill.

It is more common for mummies who plan to deliver in Government hospital to claim pre-delivery medical expenses. It is because if they do not claim during that time, higher chance the package will not be utilized because it costs a lot less to give birth in government hospital for those eligible for subsidy.
